The Symbian Foundation’s decision to make its code open source means that any organisation or individual can now use and modify it “for any purpose”. Wow! Finally!Its allbout  the #symbiancountdown which was on of the most trending topic at twitter , The Climax is  Symbian Operating System going Open Source. According to the BBC News website, Lee Williams of the Symbian Foundation told the BBC: “This is the largest open source migration effort everand it will increase rate of evolution and increase the rate of innovation of the platform.”

What i really think and feel is that , its just a beginning for a great start. Its now going to be a tough time for all other open source platforms. This is the announcement of the decade. Symbian is one of the most powerful OS in history. Now Nokia is going to roll out some real cool phone’s based on this OS.

So what’s the advantage of having an Open Source OS , Any manufacturer and partners can tune this OS according to their design and ideas, No need of hacking the symbian OS, that’s one cool thing!
