Symbian ‘Belle’ design guidlines. Revamped UI, improved functionality and better UX!
Talk about ‘Anna’ and her sister looks even more better. Anna and Belle are newer version of Symbian OS, just the naming convention. Anna runs on E6, X7 at the moment. And an update for the older Symbian^3 phones is due next month. Coming back to Symbian ‘Belle’, it is that phone OS that Symbian^3 is going to recieve and what future symbian phones is supposed to run on. It’ll be releasing sometime by this Q4 2011. Four phones have already been leaked running ‘Belle’.
It’s simple. ‘Belle’ is being dressed to make ‘Android’ less attractive.
Below are the some of the UI guidelines that Belle is going to host. This will interest the developers, users and some haters as well. Screens below.
Drag down status bar brings notification and quick access settings
This UI is majorly built to look and feel like Swipe UI, the one that rocks N9. The ‘USER IS THE KING’ motto. This UI update as I already said will support the existing Symbian^3 devices as well as, the newer releases will run this very same updated OS, with the same UI, or can say, well dressed. The above screens are just a skeleton.
The final one would look something like this.
These are just some. You can find detailed description of Belle’s UI there: Symbian_Design_Guidelines.
Things are getting better. We need em to land more faster! What say?
