As reported yesterday , Nokia has just announced that the N97 v2.1 firmware for download.  Software update available only via the Nokia Software Updater, meaning that you can’t do it OTA and its size @ 138MB.

The free Nokia Ovi Maps will work with N97 Firmware 2.1 so you don’t need an update to the app.

Improvements noted

  • Phone’s much snappier
  • 61MB free RAM after restarting
  • Satellite Status Location now shown
  • Ovi Maps is included .
