Nokia Lumia 800 first impressions
Launched back in October at the Nokia World this device has caught attention of millions around the world. Nokia is betting high on this device, well they simply can and should! Nokia is hoping that Lumia phones and future Windows Phone device will help them put up a better show against Android and iOS, which I think is quietly visible already.
Windows Phone OS
Talking about Windows Phone OS, it has a what it takes to be on the spot. It just carries one mantra.. “SIMPLY MAKE THINGS WORK!” This OS follows a very closed approach like Apple’s iOS. Which I think is good for some reasons, I’ll talk about this in Nokia Lumia 800 review, later. The UI is simple. User experience is given the highest priority. And the OS feels fresh and nothing like anything that you’ve seen before. Also it feels very familiar and solid! It’s a beautiful experience.
Freakin’ awesome! That was my first reaction when I saw Lumia 800 at the Nokia World. Reason why the Lumia 800 is so slammin’ good is that Nokia has made no mistake in designing this phone. All hail the N9! Going back to roots to get the design ideas is a very wise decision!
Lumia 800 is sexy, sleek. The Curved display and gorgeous screen makes you feel happy. Very happy! Man, the screen is so much there. You get a feeling that the homescreen has popped out of the display. Floats. Very nice actually, you all must try it!
The unibody shell of the device is built of polycarbonate. Most premium plastic ever on earth. On the top of the device you can find slots for micro USB, micro SIM card tray and 3.5mm jack. Speaker is placed at bottom of the device. On the right side you find the volume control, power/sleep and dedicated camera button. To it’s back the device features an 8MP AF Carl Ziess camera with dual LED.
Am I totally impressed with the camera? No. But takes snaps real quick. That’s not the point. Needs some processing improvements here.
