The fantastic folks at Nokia Beta Labs, today announced an interesting new project, called Nokia 3D World Gaze designed for Symbian^3 devices. This app lets you view world in third dimension! You also get a wider planet view and see geotagged photos using the app. This app is in beta though.

From Nokia Beta Labs:

We are proud to present Nokia 3D World Gaze, an experimental mixed reality application for your Symbian^3 devices. This app gives you a new kind of perspective: a 3D, real-time, first-person view to the entire world. You can simply look down through the Earth to see all the continents, cities, media, and other information where they exist in reality.

Just point your phone to any direction and the physical reality of the other side of the Earth will be revealed. The app gives you a new way to think about the relationship between the planet Earth and you on it — we live on a giant sphere and far-away cities and continents are actually somewhere below us.

Nokia 3D World Gaze is targeted to anyone interested in exploring and learning new things about the world around us. The app provides a serendipitous view of the world and it can be used anywhere on the planet. In fact, we encourage you to try it while traveling abroad: the world looks surprisingly different depending on where you are viewing it from.

We are running the beta now to further improve the app and enhance it to better suit your needs. We are particularly interested in hearing your feedback on how you feel about this new way of looking at the world and what kind of new content you would like to see in the app.

Note that the app is experimental and not associated with Nokia Maps or Ovi Maps 3D Beta.

You can go ahead and download the app here, iff you own N8, E7, C7, X7 or any other Symbian^3 devices.
