Flashing CFW with JAF

Initial Setup

  • JAF installed on your PC
  • Firmware files downloaded from Navifirm by pointing it to “Your” 5800′s Product Code(*#0000#) and Firmware Number V40(ex). After Firmware is download.

1. Download JAF 1.98.62.exe

2. Download JAF PKEY Emulator v5.0

3. Install JAF 1.98.62

4. Extract JAF PKEY Emulator v5.0 to desktop (will emulate jaf tool box).

  • JAF will load files from here so copy your firmware files here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\DataPackage\Products\RM-356\

or

  • C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\Products\RM-356

5.Then Open JAF, it starts with “Box Driver Not Installed Dialog box” alert, don’t freak out, click ok and continue.

6.go to “BB5 tab  and select “Manual Flash” , “Dead Usb”, and uncheck CRT 308

 

7. Now click Use INI and select RM-356 all lights show green if not click and select firmware file with “.C00″ extension , click PPM and select ROFS 2 file that’is the modded file you download from here and click Continue and select Rofs3 file.

 

PS : JAF doesn’t create these folders for you, manually create this folder path (C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\Products\RM-356). and then RUN jaf and follow the instructions in this post.
